Setting up a scholarship program for the children of QIT in the 1960s, QIT has had a long history of supporting education.

For several years now, QIT has also maintained close ties with several major teaching facilities throughout Quebec. Aware of the importance of having a skilled workforce, it encourages the pursuit of excellence and works closely with institutions to prepare a new generation of professionals for the future.

QIT grants bursaries to the best students in university engineering and business administration programs. It also contributes to the academic merit programs at the Sorel-Tracy and Havre-Saint-Pierre secondary schools, and takes part in the student merit program at the Sorel-Tracy college of general and professional education (CEGEP).

Every year, QIT opens its doors to nearly one hundred student interns from colleges, universities and professional training centres. It also conducts tours of its facilities so the public can learn more about the company and the work it does. Moreover, QIT contributes to several university foundations and the Sorel-Tracy CEGEP foundation, and works closely with secondary schools and colleges to adapt certain programs to industry needs, and to attract more women to non-traditional professions.
